'Morning thoughts #banhorseracing.'

The heated exchange continued and, now, Lucy has shared a statement to Twitter to double-down on her stance. She captioned the post: "Morning thoughts #banhorseracing."

"I too used to support events many years ago, as well as own my own horses and compete with them. I used to kick and whip the horses I really loved according to my teachers instructions. I didn’t know any better. That needs to be said," she wrote. "I learnt how to view horses as individuals & recognise they are being used as commodities. This kind of perspective doesn’t change overnight, I get that. But it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that horses are risking their lives at the races for the sake of entertainment. Just because we’ve ‘always done’ something, doesn’t make it right."
