The former Leinster star also believes there are comparisons to be made between this Ireland team and the New Zealand All Blacks at their peak.
Luke Fitzgerald believes Ireland will comprehensively beat Scotland and dump their Celtic cousins out of the Rugby World Cup this weekend.
Speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latest Rugby World Cup odds, Fitzgerald said "Ireland will win by 15 points. I think they are a better team across the board. For many years, Ireland have flattered to deceive at World Cups. Fitzgerald however believes that this is a team of winners and can see many similarities between Andy Farrell's side and the legendary New Zealand All-Blacks that took home the Webb Ellis trophy in 2011 and 2015.
"It means that for any opposition you have no break as a defence. They seem to position themselves very well to be able to get the ball but they can all make the pass which means that the ball gets to places where if someone has taken a break or is out of position.
