It's hoped to make a 'big difference'

Neighbours on a narrow Gedling street have welcomed upcoming parking restrictions, claiming they will make a "big difference" to parking frustrations. Nottinghamshire County Council announced it would put single yellow lines along Wood Lane and double yellow lines at the Junction of Wood Lane and Yew Tree Lane.

"Although the woods and meadows are for everybody, when people come here they park wherever, some on both sides of this lane," she said. "I moved here four years ago and it's been going on since then. I've had to tell people 'that's my garden you're parked on'."That's why people have got lumps of concrete and things at the end of their drives. You can't change people, it will move the problem somewhere else, but it will make a big difference.

Another nearby resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "It's a good idea. People come to take their dogs for a walk, they park on the corner and people can't get round."
