There are long delays on the M1 tonight
The M1 was closed near Mansfield on Friday night after a crash involving five vehicles. It happened between Junctions 28 and 27.
As of 9.30pm, the motorway was blocked southbound, with reports of queues building. Traffic was initially stopped on the northbound side but it is now on the move again. However it led to long delays in the area, with diversions in place Traffic information service Inrix reported: "M1 Southbound blocked, queueing traffic due to accident, five vehicles involved from J28 A38 to J27 A608 Mansfield Road . Northbound traffic has been released."This is a breaking news story. Further updates as we have them will be posted in the blog below
