National Highways has issued an update
Police have stopped traffic on the M1 near Mansfield after an unspecified incident. Highways England posted an update on X, previously Twitter , at 5.47am."Thanks for your patience if you're held up." Traffic monitoring website Inrix suggests that traffic is being held temporarily.
Google's traffic mapping software suggests that the incident is a crash. It follows another closure in north Leicestershire overnight. Ashby Road, over the A46 in Packington, remains shut.
