Five vehicles involved in M6 motorway collision
At least five vehicles are involved in the crash, which occurred at the Kilbeggan junction on the M6 motorway.
The Garda Press Office said Garda units and emergency services were attending the scene of the crash. “At least five vehicles at involved in the crash and the motorway will be closed in both direction until further notice,” a Garda spokesman said. “Motorists are asked to divert to the N52 via Mullingar,” the spokesman added.
In an update posted on Twitter, Gardaí said the westbound carriageway of the M6 had been re-opened, but the eastbound carriageway remained closed between junction four and five.
