Ellen FitzpatrickThe main suspect in the Madeleine McCann disappearance, Christian Brueckner, has agreed to be examined by police in hopes of escaping a rape charge.German prosecutors now suspect the man of the rape of Irish tour rep Hazel Behan in a Portuguese holiday resort in 2004.
Fuelscher says prosecutors will need to clear him as a suspect and that there is no way he could be the attacker.He told Bild: “Should it be true that Mr Brueckner does not have this feature, he would have to be ruled out as the perpetrator.”Brueckner is the prime suspect in Maddie’s disappearance from her parents’ holiday apartment in 2007 in Portugal.
Last month, investigators dealing with the search for Madeleine McCann claimed that there has been a huge development in the case as it marked the 15th anniversary.
