After the last issue's explosive conclusion, Magic's comic adaptation from jedmackay, Ig Guara, and boomstudios is entering a new arc, with Chandra and Garruk taking center stage.

In the world of Magic: The Gathering, few Planeswalkers are as memorable as Chandra Nalaar and Garruk Wildspeaker. With their larger-than-life personalities, they've become fan favorites, and the two are finally teaming up in the latest arc of MTG's comic adaptation from BOOM! Studios.

Coming from Jed MacKay and Ig Guara, BOOM!'s Magic series had previously followed Ravnica Guildmasters Kaya, Vraska, and Ral Zarek. It all culminated in a massive battle against the incredibly powerful Marit Lage, an eldritch abomination capable of moving between planes despite lacking a planeswalking spark. Eventually, it came to the Egyptian-themed plane of Amonkhet where a fan-favorite planeswalker ended up sacrificing themselves to save the multiverse.

It only makes sense for Chandra and Garruk to team up, and their pairing should certainly be more successful than Ral, Vraska, and Kaya's. The series' previous three leads all had wildly different personalities and approaches to problem-solving, naturally leading to more than a little tension in the group. On the other hand, Chandra and Garruk are both headstrong individuals who prefer to let their powerful magic do all the talking for them.

Though this comic story isn't canon to MTG's main story, it does offer fans of the series more opportunities to spend time with fan-favorite characters like Chandra and Garruk. Furthermore, these two haven't had much interaction before, meaning it will be fun to see what their dynamic is within the story. The tease of a new Planeswalker is also exciting. Either way, fans of Magic: The Gathering have every reason to be hyped for BOOM! Studios' Magic #11.
