Harry Maguire was not included in Manchester United's matchday squad for their Premier League clash against Tottenham on Saturday.
Reports claimed the centre-back was left at home for the trip to north London due to a 'minor injury', as manager Erik ten Hag opted to name two goalkeepers on the bench instead.The England centre-back was close to a transfer to West Ham after a £30million deal was agreed between the clubs, only for that move to break down.
Ten Hag then issued a challenge for Maguire to fight for his place in the United team, having fallen down the pecking order and been stripped of club captaincy this summer. But the centre-back has been left out of the squad in the first game since his failed transfer away from Old Trafford. There have been more than a few signs that Maguire has no future in the United squad, despite Ten Hag insisting he values the England man.
