The dear flower became one of his good luck charms and was reflected in his buttonholes or sewn into the hems of his haute couture designs. Today, drawings of lilies of the valley and shamrocks decorate the new tableware line, featuring wickerwork designs like baskets, placemats, frames and boxes, porcelain plates, hand-painted glasses, as well as blown-glass decorative baubles and decanters.
As for the Lucky Milly gardening collection, a first for Dior Maison, the springtime idea continues in encapsulating Monsieur Dior’s idyllic memories. The series, embellished with the lucky four-leaf clovers, includes an apron, gloves, pots, tools and a watering can. Along with a handwritten ‘Christian Dior’ signature, the accessories come in lush botanical shades of white, green and ochre.
