Both Dublin Airport and Cork Airport have warned passengers to expect significant delays today
Several flights between Ireland and the United Kingdom are facing significant disruptions today as a result of air traffic control issues affecting British airspace.
Passengers flying into and out of Ireland's two biggest airports today are being urged to check the status of their flight ahead of travelling, amid reports that those already on board planes due to arrive in the UK have been told that their flights will be diverted to a different country. Britain's National Air Traffic Service has confirmed that engineers are continuing to work on the problem, which is expected to severely delay air travel to and from UK airports throughout Monday.
Minister of State at the Department of Transport Jack Chambers has admitted that the technical issue will continue to have a "major impact" on a number of Irish flights over the coming hours.
