It's been vacant for some time
Plans for the demolition of a former Boots store in Radford have been put forward. The building, in Ilkeston Road, has been vacant "for some time".
The demolition of the building "will ensure that the health and safety risks associated with trespass and vandalism are removed", read part of an application form issued on February 21. The work is hoped to be carried out from March 27 to April 5. The demolition would be carried out by Gaskell Building Surveying, pending approval from Nottingham City Council. The vacant site exists opposite a Canning Pharmacy store, next to Montford Street, a residential road.Planners have said that neighbouring properties will not be affected by the demolition. The application form states: "The building has remained vacant for some time and an alternative use of the site is being proposed.
"The demolition of the existing building will ensure that the health and safety risks associated with trespass and vandalism are removed." At this stage, Nottinghamshire Live is not aware of what the future plans for the site are.
