With one major change coming into effect for all Ryanair passengers in summer 2025, we review the main Ryanair rules and policies that could cost you if you get caught out.

While there is no doubt you can avail of savings when travelling by booking a Ryanair flight, not following their rules closely can seriously cost you.

From baggage restrictions, to strict rules around advance check in windows, here all the three major policies you need to comply with this year before jetting off in 2025. Currently on their website, it says: “You can access your boarding pass on the Ryanair App once you have checked in. You do not need to print your boarding pass once you have access to the Ryanair App unless you are departing from a Moroccan airport.

To use their app to check-in and get a digital boarding pass, you can use the Ryanair.com website or on the mobile App. “This requirement is to ensure you are on notice of, and that you, a passenger on your booking, or an individual with personal knowledge of you and of the contents of your luggage have confirmed compliance with required safety, security and public health protocols, including those set out by the ICAO Technical Instructions, Regulation 2015/1998, and the EASA/EaCDC Covid-19 Aviation Health Safety Protocol.

If you have selected a fare that allows you to carry on a 10kg bag, this must measure exactly to be stored in the overhead locker.Duty-freeIf you are travelling with an infant , you can bring as much baby milk, powdered milk, sterilised water, and baby food as you need for your flight even if this exceeds the usual limit on liquids. These don’t need to fit in the transparent bag that is needed for all other liquids but please have them ready for inspection by airport security.
