An hour before the Mavericks’ home showdown against Utah on Sunday night, a 16-year-old Frisco teenager, Callum, patiently waited to meet his favorite NBA...
The family still seemed to be in awe a half-hour later when Callum took the American Airlines Center court and shot baskets with Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. Callum and his parents are huge Shark Tank fans. After Callum shot baskets, the family posed with Cuban for photos at midcourt.
“I didn’t know it was going to be such a big deal,” an emotional Julia said, looking around the court. “It’s kind of taking my breath away.” Julia said the family is originally from the United Kingdom, but they moved to Frisco in recent years, where Callum became a big Mavericks fan, especially of Doncic and Dwight Powell and Jalen Brunson.
On Sunday, Callum got the added bonus watching Doncic score 32 points and pull down 10 rebounds and the Mavericks earned an important victory over Utah that moved Dallas into sole possession of fourth place in the Western Conference.
