Tillman will have his reasons and his camp will argue that moving to PSV is the right step.
Malik Tillman’s decision to tear up his Rangers deal and sign up to a similar agreement at PSV Eindhoven shows a lack of ambition.
It was clear that come the end of the season that Tillman didn’t see his future at Ibrox. That is fair enough. There was talk of English Premier League interest and that would have been perfectly understandable. To see Tillman step up to one of Europe’s top leagues would have seemed the most natural progression for the attacker. Even if he had gone back into the Bayern Munich squad that would have been seen as another step up, yet he turns up in the Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven.
