The male driver of the car, a man aged in his 20s was uninjured
A man, 40s, has died following a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Saturday evening.
The fatal collision occurred on the N54 at Plush, Cloverhill, Co. Cavan at approximately 10.45pm. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses. The pedestrian, a male in his 40s, was fatally injured. His body has since been removed to the mortuary at Cavan General Hospital, where a postmortem examination will take place.The road remains closed pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators this morning and local diversions are in place.Any road users who may have camera footage who were travelling in the area between 10:30pm and 11:00pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
