Emergency services were called to the scene, where the man, aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead.
It happened in the White's Cross area, around 6km north of the city, around 1.50pm.
His body has since been moved to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.Gardai have confirmed that both the Health and Safety Authority and the coroner have been made aware of the fatal workplace incident. A Garda spokesperson told Cork Beo: "Gardaí responded to reports of a fatal workplace accident that occurred in White's Cross, Co. Cork this afternoon, Wednesday 30th August 2023 at approximately 1.50pm.
