A man has died after a road crash involving three vehicles this evening in Ballinasloe, Co Galway

The driver of one of the cars, a man in his 60s, was taken to Portiuncula University Hospital where he has since passed away, gardaí said.All the roads to Ashtree Junction are closed and will remain so overnight, gardaí also said. A forensic investigation team has been requested.

Investigating officers have also appealed for any witnesses to come forward, especially those who may have camera footage from the area between 6pm and 6.45pm. Anyone with any information is being asked to contact Ballinasloe Garda Station on 090 9631890, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
