Man, 70, dies after apparent road-rage shooting in San Antonio
A 70-year-old man has died after a shooting that San Antonio police believe was a road rage incident on the Southeast Side.
Officers dispatched for a shooting in progress near Brooks City Base at 2:42 p.m. Saturday found the wounded man still seated inside his vehicle, along with his wife, who was not injured, police said. Officers said the shooting appeared to have taken place on City Base Landing near its intersection with SE Military Drive. The wounded man’s vehicle veered off the roadway and into a nearby Walmart parking lot. He was pronounced dead at Brooke Army Medical Center, according to reports.
Witnesses were able to provide officers a description of the vehicle driven by the suspected gunman, which officers located in the 1700 block of SE Military. They detained a 46-year-old man without incident, police said. The suspect, who has not been identified, was taken in for questioning by homicide detectives, police said.
