A man in his 70s has died following a single-vehicle road crash in Co Kerry.
An Garda Síochána and Kerry County Council have closed the N70 Ring of Kerry road at Castlecove until at least tomorrow afternoon following the incident.The man, who was the driver of a van, was pronounced dead at the scene.His death brings to 102 the number of people who have died on Irish roads so far this year, according to garda figures.
The scene is preserved for examination by garda forensic collision investigators and the local coroner has been notified.Traffic diversions are in place at Waterville and Sneem, according to Kerry County Council. The council said it has informed bus companies that there will be no access for buses travelling on the Ring of Kerry road tomorrow.Anyone with camera footage from the area at the time of the crash is asked to make this available to gardaí.
