A woman in her 40s and a male in his 20s were injured in the attack, which took place in Letterkenny
A man has been arrested after allegedly wielding a hammer in an aggravated assault on a man and woman in Co Donegal yesterday evening.
A spokesperson confirmed that Gardaí arrested a man following an incident at a residence in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, on Monday, February 27."The male, who was armed with a hammer and assaulted the occupants of the residence. A woman in her 40s and a man in his 20s were injured during the incident." This section of the act is relevant to any offence for which a person of full age and capacity and not previously convicted may, under or by virtue of any enactment, be punished by imprisonment for a term of five years or by a more severe penalty and to an attempt to commit any such offence. Gardai said that the man has since been charged and is due to appear before Buncrana District Court this Tuesday morning.
