Videos circulating on social media showed paramedics assisting a man where the car overturned
The 34-year-old was arrested following the two-vehicle collision which happened shortly after 8pm on Sunday, September 10, at the junction of Alliance Avenue and Oldpark Road.
He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of two counts of assault on police and disorderly behaviour as he left hospital to attend custody where he remains today, September 11.A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said they received a 999 call at 8.02pm. In a statement, they added: "NIAS despatched one emergency crew to the incident. Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by Ambulance.
