According to court documents, a child called dispatchers Wednesday at about 11 a.m., reporting a burglary in progress at a home in southwest Decatur. The child said a man was inside their home going through boxes.
Decatur police say a man broke into a home Wednesday morning in Decatur while there were children inside.
Christopher Jason Hovis, 42, of Toney, has been charged with second degree burglary and was being held on $5,000 bond in the Morgan County Jail in north Alabama.
