One man has been arrested after Gardaí carried out separate searches in south Dublin which resulted in the seizure of explosive devices and suspected cannabis.
Additionally, a scrambler bike and suspected cannabis were discovered in subsequent raids elsewhere in the area.Gardaí report that the explosives in question were "improvised" and viable, which required army bomb disposal experts on scene to safely dispose of them.
"A male was arrested in connection with the incident, and he is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at a Garda station in the Dublin area."
