Remains of woman still at scene in Raheny, man in his 50s arrested for questioning

The office of the State Pathologist will be notified.”
The man being detained was being questioned on suspicion of murder and was being interviewed by gardaí at a north Dublin Garda station. He can be questioned for up to 24 hours without charge. Gardaí believe a dispute broke out at the property late on Wednesday night, into Thursday morning, and escalated, resulting in the woman being violently assaulted.
There was a large amount of blood at the scene and it is suspected the dead woman, who was in her 40s, was stabbed. There were also two children in the house at the time, one of national school age and the other around 15 years.
