Man, 50s, arrested and charged over armed robbery at shop in Mallow, Co Cork

A man in his 50s has been arrested and charged in relation to the robbery of a shop in Mallow, Co Cork.The suspect demanded cash and then fled the scene with a sum of money.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí from Mallow, assisted by the Southern Region Dog Unit, carried out a search of the area and a man In 50s was arrested.The man was brought to Mallow Garda Station and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
