A man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a 16-year-old boy was killed in a crash in Stockport has been released on bail, police have confirmed.
Dean Barnes tragically died in the fatal smash on Gorton Road in Reddish on Tuesday morning . He suffered fatal injuries in the crash between a motorbike and a car. A man - aged in his 20s - was arrested following the incident. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said this morning that he had been released on bail as the investigation continues.The GMP spokesperson said: "A man in his 20s arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on bail." Following Dean's death, his loved ones described him as a 'ball of energy' who was 'so loved by his family, friends and the big community'.
Paying tribute to him, a loved one told the Manchester Evening News: "He was such a dare devil but sweet boy, and he will be truly missed on the estate. There’s not a day that will go by where no one won’t think about him because he was so loved by his family, friends and the big community.Dozens of tributes were also left at the scene of the crash following the incident, including flowers, balloons, candles and registration plate reading 'SAVAGE DB'.
Witnesses or anyone who has dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage on, or near to, the junction of Gorton Road and Ainsdale Grove, should call police on 101 quoting log number 544 of 24 January 2023.
