A man beaten to death in East Oakland Sunday morning has been identified.
OAKLAND — A man beaten to death Sunday morning as he was walking to his East Oakland home was identified by police Tuesday as 29-year-old Rolando Jacinto Carrillo.
Authorities said Jacinto Carrillo had come to Oakland from his native Guatemala about four months ago and was living with relatives. Police were told he was working as a laborer and was sending money back to his family in Guatemala. Authorities said he was walking home from visiting a friend and was less than a half-mile from his residence when he was attacked and beaten to death about 5:30 a.m. Sunday in the 2100 block of 90th Avenue between Bancroft Avenue and Sunnyside Street. The neighborhood is a mixture of small businesses and residences.Related Articles
