A 30-something man has been charged for a hit-and-run incident in Limerick, resulting in the death of a 50-something pedestrian, James Forde, who was struck by a maroon Ford Focus.
A man aged in his 30s has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run collision in Limerick city on Tuesday, in which a pedestrian in his 50s was fatally injured and later died in hospital. The individual had been arrested yesterday and was detained at a Garda station in the southern region.
He has now been charged and is due to appear before Limerick District Court on Thursday morning. The victim of the collision has been named locally as James Forde from Shannamore Park in Clareview. He was allegedly struck by a maroon Ford Focus on the Ennis Road in Limerick shortly before 2pm on Tuesday. He is survived by his mother Anne, nine siblings, and a large extended family.
