An arrest was made
A MAN has been arrested after allegedly chasing and assaulting another man with a baton in Paisley.
A 34-year-old man was near the Cenotaph in the town centre at around 2.40pm on Friday when he reportedly started being chased by the 35-year-old suspect. Police said the younger man was struck on the wrist and ankle with an extendable baton before seeking refuge in a nearby newsagent store.Meanwhile, the mobile phone of the victim, who did not require hospital treatment, was allegedly found in the possession of the suspect.
Police revealed the 35-year-old was charged with possession of an offensive weapon, assault and theft after the incident.
