A man in his 20s has died in hospital over a week after suffering an assault in west Waterford

The man was found with serious head injuries in the town of Tallow shortly after 12am on 2 November and brought by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.It is understood he was living in the west Waterford area but was not originally from the county.The investigation into the suspected assault, which happened in the vicinity of Barrack Street in Tallow, is being led by gardaí from the station in Dungarvan and they have appealed to the public for information on what happened.

They have also been taking statements in the area and collecting CCTV footage in an attempt to piece together the last known movements of the victim. Anyone who was in the area at the time or has any details has been asked to contact gardaí in Dungarvan on 058 48600.
