A 52-year-old man from Derry is due in court this morning charged with the murder of journalist Lyra McKee
The development comes just weeks before the first anniversary of the death of the 29-year-old journalist, who was shot dead during a riot in the Creggan area of Derry city on 18 April last.
Ms McKee was standing near a police vehicle when she was hit by a bullet fired by a masked gunman towards officers. Four men were arrested in Derry on Tuesday, three of which, all aged in their 20s, were later released.He also faces two other charges of possession of a firearm and membership of a proscribed organisation.
