A 21-year-old man was shot to death Tuesday while sitting in a car with other people in Cypress. Officers responded to reports of a shooting just after 2 p.m.
to find the man dead in a gray Dodge parked at Fry Road and Rustic Lake Lane, according to the Harris County sheriff's office.
There were four other people in the car with Barnes when he was shot, and investigators learned the actual shooting had happened nearby in the 19700 block of Swan Valley. They told officers someone drove up in a light-colored SUV and opened fire.
