Gardaí are set to launch a murder probe after this man was discovered dead with a suspected stab injury. A shocked passer-by discovered William Moorehouse, 35, lying on the ground near a playground on the Boghall Road in Bray, Co Wicklow, at around 6pm last night.
It is understood he had a laceration-type stab injury and, despite efforts to try save him, he was declared dead at the scene. Gardaí initially responded to reports of an altercation. When they arrived they discovered him alone with a stab injury. Officers are awaiting the result of a post-mortem before determining the course of the investigation – but sources say it is likely to be upgraded to murder. Local TD John Brady told the Mirror last night that the community is reeling. He said: “The people of Ballywaltrim and Bray are in total shock at the horrific incident that has happened in our community.” Several tributes have also been paid to Mr Moorehouse online. One relative said: “Rest in peace Willie, may God give you the best bed in heaven and I hope you’re happy up there.” Gardaí said they are “investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in his 30s following an incident in Bray”.
