A MAN who gave drugs to a prison guard to smuggle into a jail walked free from court today/yesterday.
John Moore, 29, handed 1,463 of street Valium tablets to Martin McGee, 33, in a car park in Glasgow's Maryhill on March 15 2021.McGee had been under watch by senior prison staff as a result of intelligence received in Operation Lauderdale.
Jurors watched CCTV of McGee meeting Moore at a car park in the city's Maryhill on March 14 2021 at 1.42pm.Moore approached McGee's driver window and passed him an unseen item before he headed back into the BMW. He recalled:"I found there to be a more familiarity with the prisoners and Mr McGee than some other prisoners."McGee told his lawyer Graham Mann in his evidence that staff are regularly asked to bring items into the jail from prisoners in the past but it was laughed off.
