Gardaí have arrested a man following a broad daylight Dublin city centre assault that left a man hospitalised. Officers, along with other dedicated members of the emergency services, rushed to the scene of the assault, which took place on Liffey Street at around 1pm on Tuesday.
One man was quickly taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries, while another man was arrested and remains in detention at Store Street Garda Station. Blood was visible on the ground on the busy Dublin street following the vicious daytime attack, with workers from Dublin City Council springing into action to clean up in the aftermath of the assault. Gardaí confirmed that investigations into the incident remain ongoing. A spokesperson for Gardaí told the Irish Mirror: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of an assault that occurred today at approximately 1pm on Liffey Street, Dublin City. "A male was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries.
