Man in his 70s suffers 'serious head injury' after being hit by car at roundabout
A pensioner has been hospitalised with a 'serious head injury and numerous fractures' after being hit by a car.
Lancashire Police said the collision happened at the roundabout near Kestrel Park in the Ashurst area of Skelmersdale. Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 4pm on Sunday . Officers said a pedestrian, a man in his 70s, suffered a serious head injury and numerous fractures. He was taken to Aintree Hospital, where he remains in a 'stable condition'.Police said the car – an MG3 driven by a woman in her 50s - had entered the roundabout from Ashley Road and was intending to take the third exit onto Ashurst Road, when the collision occurred. No arrests have been made.
