A man is in custody after striking and killing a 79-year-old woman with a fireplace poker late Saturday in Bergen County, authorities said.said Sunday.Police arrested the 40-year-old man, who has also not been named by prosecutors. The incident is being investigated as a homicide.A spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office declined to provide additional information.
