Police are now hunting for a suspect who fled the scene
Police are hunting for a suspect after a man was left with 'life-changing injuries' when he was knocked down by a car in Stockport.
Detectives said they believe the incident was 'isolated'. Shocked residents said they were locked inside their homes for several hours this morning following the incident. Another neighbour said a forensic crime scene investigation officer began combing the area immediately outside her home after blood was found on her garden wall. "They found a stone in the garden and blood down the wall", she said.
"I went to go the gym at around 6:50am and the policeman said I couldn’t go out", the woman said. "But when we asked him he said he didn’t know what was going on or what had happened." The road was re-opened to traffic at around 11:30am with a small cordon remaining in place outside three properties on the street. The cordon was then removed entirely around an hour later.
