57-year-old Michael Scott, of Gortrae, Portumna has pleaded not guilty to murdering his 76-year-old aunt, Chrissie Tracey at her farm at Boula in Portumna, on 27 April, 2018
The prosecution claims that Michael Scott, with an address at Gortrae, Portumna,"deliberately and callously" drove over Chrissie Treacy with a JCB teleporter because of a row over the land they shared.Chrissie Treacy died after a JDB loadall teleporter was driven over her in the yard of her home at around 3pm on the 27 April, 2018.
She originally farmed it with her two brothers but when they died half of the farm was passed on to her nephew Michael Scott"an accomplished, skilled and hardworking farmer". Chrissie was, up to the time of her death, receiving daily visits from carers and while she was not an invalid, she had walking sticks and sometimes"walked about the place".It is the State's case that the relationship between Michael Scott and his aunt Chrissie Treacy had disimproved over time and by 2018 had broken down.
