Adam Doyle of Balbriggan, after seeing himself on Crimecall, turned himself into Gardaí for a one-punch assault that left his victim with a fractured eye socket and two ankle fractures. Doyle received an 18-month suspended sentence for the assault which occurred in Dublin's Dame Street in 2022.
A man who assaulted another during an altercation on Dame Street in Dublin, resulting in injuries to the victim, has been sentenced to 18 months suspended. Adam Doyle, 31, admitted to the assault on Evan Somers after recognizing himself in CCTV footage aired on Crime call, an RTE programme. The incident involved a verbal argument and ended with Doyle punching Somers, causing fractures to his eye socket and ankle. Somers required hospitalization and surgery for his injuries.
Doyle denied any homophobic elements in the assault, despite the victim's claims. He voluntarily turned himself in to the Gardaí immediately after viewing the Crimecall episode
