A pedestrian in his late 30s was struck by a car on Dublin Road in Kilkenny City on Saturday night. The driver fled the scene. The injured man was transported to St Luke’s General Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition. Gardaí are investigating and seeking any witnesses or footage.

A man is in a serious condition in hospital following a hit-and-run incident in Kilkenny city on Saturday night. The incident occurred at around 10.30pm, when a male pedestrian, aged in his late 30s, was struck by a car along the Dublin Road in the city. In a statement, Garda headquarters said they were 'investigating all the circumstances of a serious injury hit-and-run road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 10.30pm.

' Gardaí added that the 'male pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a vehicle which failed to remain at the scene.' The man was rushed to nearby St Luke’s General Hospital, where he 'remains in a serious condition,' gardaí confirmed. Garda investigations are ongoing and they are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, have information, or CCTV or dash-cam footage to contact them at Kilkenny Garda Station on 056-7775000.
