Lorain police shot and killed a man who a day earlier was at the department threatening employees over police records, authorities say.

Lorain police on Friday were in the process of obtaining a warrant for Boggess after the incident at the records department on Thursday when they received a call that Boggess was at the rental office with a gun and pointed it at a person, the release says. Police rendered first aid before paramedics arrived. He was taken to Mercy Health - Lorain Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
