OAKLAND — A man was shot Friday afternoon in East Oakland, police said.The man, believed to be in his 30s, was shot about 2:24 p.m. Friday as he was walking in the area of 81st Avenue and San Leandro Street, a mostly industrial area.
Police were trying to determine if the man was shot by someone who approached him on the street or by someone who was in a passing vehicle. The shooter fled before police could respond to the scene.Portions of 81st Avenue and San Leandro Street were shut down while police investigated. Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter.
