Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured in the city's Strawberry Mansion section.
PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured in the city's Strawberry Mansion section on Sunday.
It happened around 2 p.m. on the 2900 block of Ridge Avenue just outside of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. Police say a 25-year-old man was shot in the shoulder and chest. He was rushed to an area hospital where he was placed in stable condition.About 10 minutes before the shooting, Glenn Bryan, president of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, says church officials were discussing gun violence and how the community can help those dealing with trauma.
"Children are afraid to go to school. Parents are afraid to send their kids to school. Older adults are afraid to go to the store, and people shouldn't have to live like that," said Bryan.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS.
