Just minutes before a homicide at Alemeda Terrace apartments in Birmingham, another shooting took place nearby. That victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
An investigation is underway after a man was shot to death at a west Birmingham apartment complex late Thursday night.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald said officers arrived to find the adult male victim unresponsive on a walkway near the parking. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced him dead on the scene.The suspect had left the area before police arrived. That victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The two shootings are not related, Fitzgerald said.
