Police in a city east of Toronto say a man is in critical condition after he was stabbed multiple times while he was pushing his granddaughter in a stroller Tuesday morning.
Durham Regional Police Service say the seemingly random attack happened around 10:45 a.m. in a residential area in northern Oshawa, near Durham College and the child was not injured.
Duty Insp. Chris Ludlow says a 20-year-old suspect was arrested shortly afterwards at a nearby home, with the help of multiple witnesses and surveillance video.Ludlow says the suspect is known to police and officers are investigating the motive for the attack.This report by The Canadian Press was first published Aug. 22, 2023.
