Bayer Leverkusen have tied the highly-rated Man Utd target down to a longer-term contract.
Speculation over Frimpong and his future with the Bundesliga side was at fever pitch this summer. However, after United held discussions with his representatives over a proposed move, the 22-year-old Netherlands defender has now committed his services to Leverkusen until 2028.
After signing his new deal, the United target said: "A lot has happened since then, we've experienced great things and continually improved as a team. It's great fun to be part of this team." "He's one of the best players in the Bundesliga in his position as an attacking right-back and his contract extension underlines Jeremie's importance to us."
United intend to strengthen up at full-back, centre-back, central midfield and attacking quarters. Erik ten Hag was able to bring in seven players this summer, totalling £183million to take his overall spend since becoming manager beyond the £400million mark.
