Turkey now appears a feasible option with ESPN reporting that two SuperLig clubs - Galatasaray and Fenerbahce - are interested with their transfer window still open. United had been determined to offload the Dutchman on a permanent basis, but a loan is now being considered. Ten Hag was willing to let Fred leave the club with his minutes at a premium and others are also considering their futures. Scott McTominay is set to play a squad role with Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount and new signing Sofyan Amrabat all ahead of him in the pecking order.
The Netherlands international has endured a torrid time in Manchester, failing to get a run of games under either of the managers he's played under. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick and now Ten Hag have all overlooked him on a regular basis, which has led to a sense of frustration, and the finger of blame being pointed at United for not offloading the player already.
