Manchester United are going up against Real Madrid to try and persuade Alphonso Davies to join the club next summer, despite the potential lack of Champions League football
Manchester United are reportedly pushing hard to try and get ahead of Real Madrid in the race to sign Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies.
Davies himself has been reluctant to make a public decision on his future, but signing a new contract with Bayern appears unlikely, despite a €12m per year deal being on the table, especially since United made their interest known. United have a long-standing issue at left-back, where Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia have been injured, and are reportedly keen to bring in a new player for Ruben Amorim.
"Although the player has many options, we have not reached an agreement with any club," Huoseh said. "Any information that suggests otherwise is incorrect. A new contract with Bayern could also be an option.” Huoseh felt compelled to defend his client in March after Bayern sporting director Max Eberl put pressure on him to sign a new deal. "It's unfair that Alphonso is now being attacked," Huoseh told Bild. "We were close to an agreement a year ago. Then the entire club management was replaced. We didn't hear anything for seven months. Although I tried during this time to contact the club myself.
